Screenwriter Anna Biak Tha Mawi is a Chin national from Hakha who lives in Yangon where she studied English Literature at the Myanmar Institute of Theology. Her poems and short stories have appeared in Chin magazines and her painting and photographs have been shown in group exhibitions. She joined YFS in 2009 where she wrote and later helped to film Bungkus a short drama about the phenomenon of the ‘parcel bride’ which she hopes to develop into a feature-length film. She is currently living in Chin where she has begun a traditional weaving initiative and is currently working on a documentary about Chin memorial stones. Solomon is her first documentary.
