Synopsis
Governments – even decades-old military regimes – may come and go but, like many rural communities in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), the lives of the villagers of Pyun Su on the banks of Moe Yun Gyi lake are pervaded by deeper traditions – above all the lively cult of the nat.

Director's Biography
Myanmar computer arts graduate Zaw Naing Oo (born in 1979) had his first brush with film at Myanmar production outfit Forever Group. He attended Yangon Film School from 2011 to 2013 where he directed and/or edited several short documentaries and fiction films including Soe Moe Aung’s To School and A Step Forward (dir. Sann Maw Aung). His heartfelt portrait of a disparate Chin family in Empty Nest screened at a number of international festivals and earned him Best Short Student Documentary award in Palm Springs, USA in 2013. Shot in the stunning Moe Yun Gyi lakeland sanctuary, his second film as a director, Lady of the Lake, which he also edited, picked up two Special Mention Awards and one cinematography award at international festivals.
