Synopsis

A purely observational film that succeeds – without any narration – in describing the life of a family of vendors on a Yangon ferry boat and builds to a nicely atmospheric finish.

Director's Biography

Wynn Htut (born in 1975) is a professional photographer turned filmmaker from Ayeyarwady Region whose first film, Life and Wish screened at Wathann Film Festival in 2013. During his studies at YFS from 2014 to 2016, he worked on a number of films, notably as cinematographer on the Goethe-Institut Documentary Award winning Slate (dir. Khin Warso). He now divides his time between running his own photo studio in Yangon and filmmaking. He often works as cinematographer on YFS films such as Nwaye Zar Che Soe’s award-winning Lovely Bones and the 2016 YFS ‘true fictions’ short The School Uniform. His other works as both director and cinematographer include Father and Son and his atmospheric observational documentary project, Floating Life.
